Why Missio?

Over the last century, Western society has experienced a monumental shift in its worldview from governments and institutions to families and individuals. This age has been described as not an era of change but a “change of eras.” Some have described our situation as an apostolic time or apostolic moment, similar to that of the apostles in 1st-century Rome, where society at large is increasingly ignorant and hostile toward Christianity.  Regardless of how we describe our time, we know it marks the end of Christendom, and the strategies, tactics, and methods we used to employ in mission no longer work to engage society. This has left many leaders searching for answers to re-engage the world with the Gospel. To be sure, some people are responding to this situation with great courage, hope, and missional zeal. However, the Church's leaders have not yet mobilized enough to see a great harvest of souls or reclaim the world for Jesus.

In this apostolic moment, Missio was founded to equip leaders in parishes, dioceses, schools, and other institutions to help them achieve their God-given mission. Leaders deserve to be equipped to lead, prayerfully discern new strategies, and learn how to raise up and organize others around those strategies to accomplish their mission. Well-equipped leaders have strong human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral formation and unique charisms, skills, and other gifts from God. Missio’s work to equip leaders draws from these areas and more.

At Missio, we believe God is at work to renew and reform the Church, and our primary task as leaders of mission is to prayerfully discern His plan for transformation in His Church.

On a practical level, Missio’s work includes some of the following offerings:

·      Leadership Team Offsites

·      1-1 Coaching

·      Remote Sessions

·      Retreats

·      Innovative-thought partnership

·      In-person or remote training

·      Podcasts and other media

We prefer to develop longer-term relationships with partners in mission, as this significantly impacts a leader's ability to create and sustain transformation. Shorter or more brief engagements certainly have their place and hold value, but leaders looking for a more lasting impact will find brief engagements do not hold the staying power that is often needed.

Partnering with Missio provides numerous benefits, including increased confidence in decision-making, the ability to create a vision, greater situational awareness, facilitating healing in communities, deeper awareness of the Holy Spirit's gifts, better discernment of God’s will, and decreased feelings of loneliness, confusion, overwhelm, fear, fatigue, and division. Leadership teams have also confirmed significantly increased trust, clarity on priorities, unity, and confidence in team discernment.
